Like a reel of film, time is cyclical, created from fragments and moments.
Two films, of a short duration, evoke the notion of temporality. In La Jetée, Chris Marker mixes past, present, future. Serge Lutens, in his first short film, Les Stars, features women in a 1920s atmosphere whose clothes do not lack in contemporary touches; thus, it too creates temporal confusion.
I come last in this hazy timeline, only to break it up even more. Through reappropriation, by cutting, scratching and painting on the existing rolls, I compose a new one. On this object, I add my interpretation of time: my imprint, in the form of an animation from which these stills are drawn.
